Tullie Yeghen was appointed to Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust (formerly The Lewisham NHS Trust) as consultant haematologist in 2007.  She has since developed the local services for patients with Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassaemia, including setting up a dedicated combined Hospital/Community adult Sickle Cell clinic and a Transition clinic (the latter with Dr Elizabeth Sleight, Consultant Paediatrician).  Individual patient protocols including management of an acute painful episode are now provided in an electronic database, and patients are encouraged to participate in the National Haemoglobinopathy Registry as well as any available Local and National clinical studies. There is also a rolling teaching program for junior medical staff and nurses on the subjects of Sickle Cell Disease.

Before this, Tullie was working as a consultant in Whipps Cross Hospital from 2001, also with a leadership role in Sickle Cell Disease.

Her other areas of practice are Haemato-Oncology and Venous Thromboembolic disease.
